The Rift Zone is the fastest rolling, most speed oriented MultiTrac bike in the Marin Bikes line, ready for all-day trail epics, claiming personal records, and smashing weekly night rides with the local shop. Fast rolling and stable 29” wheels roll over anything in their path, and an all new Series 3 MultiTrac alloy frame featuring 120mm of travel, 148mm Boost spacing, and internal dropper post compatibility brings the Rift Zone to the next level. This bike can take you where you want to go on your mountain bike adventures with efficient and smooth suspension and modern trail geometry.

The Rift Zone has a Series 3 6061 butted and hydroformed aluminum frame with 120mm travel MultiTrac suspension technology and fast rolling 29” wheels.

29” wheels are the choice for fast trail riding and endurance-level efforts for their excellent rollover abilities and large contact patch.

MultiTrac is an acclaimed suspension system, fine-tuned to have a balanced ride capable of absorbing big hits with an efficient pedaling platform. The rocker link provides a progressive leverage ratio for the rear shock for small bump sensitivity and the feeling of a long travel system on large drops and rocks.

Rift Zone models are compatible with internally routed dropper posts, with internal rear derailleur routing for a clean look and snag free ride.

"The Rift Zone 2 is the 29er version of the Bicycling Editors’ Choice award-winning Marin Hawk Hill—a 27.5-inch-wheel bike we love for its quality build, modern geometry, and excellent value. The Marin Rift Zone 2 is a cheap mountain bike that goes big. You won't find a better full-suspension 29er under $2k."

"After about two hours on a rather XC-oriented test loop, the new 2018 Marin Rift Zone 3 left me with me a completely positive overall impression of the bike."

"Marin’s new range of aluminium full suspension bikes is strong and is hitting some tight price points to bring performance bikes to more riders. With the Rift Zone, Marin has made a fast, fun and efficient trail bike that will deliver on a huge range of trails. With prices that won’t break the bank, the range allows for off-the-peg bikes that can hit the trail hard, or provide a solid base for some strategic upgrades. The more generous sizing and low standover make a bike that can be sized on length and gives huge confidence to squeeze every last ounce of performance possible from that 120mm of travel."

"With a host of ‘own brand’ componentry and no bling, the Marin Rift Zone has to let its ride do the talking. Luckily for Marin, the ride is flipping brilliant – as explosive as fireworks on the trails. Do not let your mates buy this bike, as you will not be able to keep up."

"The Rift Zone 3 packs great value and looks into a sturdy package – it’s a bike that’ll take all the singletrack you can throw at it and more, powering along the flats and punching up the hills."

"Shedding some of it's cross country skin the Rift Zone is now a capable and lively bike that is quite happy to push the limits out on the trails."   |   See the full review

"It’s a long and low feeling bike to ride, which gives it tremendous speed and cornering ability, we found ourselves holding great speed"

"The Rift Zone 3 is a bike that has incredibly broad appeal. It is the ideal introduction for those new to mountain biking, but also provides performance that will keep riders with more experience entertained, with the potential to upgrade components at a future date - knowing you'll still be in front budget-wise and have an even more capable trail monster as a result."
