All hail The King. The all-new CrMo El Roy aggressive trail/enduro/DH 29er is the latest addition to Marin's acclaimed hardtail lineup.
The classic robust yet forgiving character of chromoly steel meets modern day long and slack geometry, a match as perfect as mountain biking and post-ride burritos. This new 29” wheel trail slayer was purpose built for silly fun days in the woods, no matter the conditions. Use it as a back-to-the-roots, all-in-one trail slayer, or as that perfect “n+1 bike,” on days when the full suspension bike stays at home in the shed. Named in honor of our favorite post-ride taqueria, the El Roy is overflowing in solid spec choices, all wrapped up with a stout Series 3 double butted and formed CrMo frameset. Grab one of two frame sizes, Regular or Grande, and enjoy the delicious goodness that Marin has cooked up.

The El Roy is the ultimate aggressive steel hardtail that’ll get you to the top, and then really shine on the way down, with a spicy mix of progressive geometry and supple steel.
The El Roy is at the cutting edge of aggressive enduro geometry, with a steep 78-degree seat tube angle, allowing the rider to get more over the front, minimizing front end lift on climbs. This geometry was refined using some of the best riders in the business, and allows us to push the head angle out to downhill bike-like slackness, without sacrificing the ability to get you back up to the top of the hill.
- EL ROY TECHNOLOGY -
SERIES 3 CRMO FRAME
The El Roy is built on a stout Series 3 4130 CrMo frame with investment cast dropouts, integrated drop-in headset, external brake and hose mounts, all fully ED coated for longevity.
Gravity-oriented geometry, with a 63° headtube and 78° seattube angles, 44mm fork offset, and long reach measurements (Regular = 480mm, Grande = 510mm).
Regular and Grande frame sizes fit a wide range of riders, with included 150mm (Regular) or 170mm (Grande) dropper posts.
INVESTMENT CAST DROPOUTS
Custom investment cast CrMo 148x12mm Boost thru-axle drop outs provide strength and stuiffness where you need it most.

"The El Roy is as happy as any hardtail I've ridden when the going gets tough." 4.5 stars/5
— BikeRadar | Read The Review
"For terrain that challenges with technical climbs and then rewards with fast, rough downhills, the El Roy is a competent and ready hardtail. As a machine, hardtails are great for a few reasons — less maintenance, fewer adjustments, easier to clean. They are fantastic for winter riding because there are no pivot bushings to take the hit in the wet conditions. Ride them often enough and become a smoother rider out of necessity, too. If you dare to be different and want to test the extreme fringes of MTB geometry, then the El Roy is ready to get weird with you."

"Bring the right attitude and some decent bike handling skills to the table, and you’ll be amazed by what the El Roy can do."
